It’s been a while. As you might have seen, I have posted some pictures from our vacation, which was all about relaxing and playing with the kids. Oh, and eating. Some more.
We got home and still had two weeks of Staycation. And during these two weeks, I kept thinking: “I should blog, I should blog” but my head has been empty.
It wasn’t all idleness, though…
Now, there are many – MANY – things, I don’t do well. But there is one thing I do extremely well. And that is cleaning up and throwing out. And these past weeks, I have been a lean, mean, white-tornado-dust-busting-maschine. Here is what I did: (You don’t have to actually read it, just please notice that the list is long!!)
- Washed and vacuumed the car (found my favorite lipgloss!).
- Washed the windows inside and out – upstairs and down! (Bird pooped on the big window the next day. Get. The. Shotgun.)
- Bought new beds and sorted out both boys’ rooms (You know that huge surplus the LEGO-coorperation has? Yeah, we did that.)
- Sorted all the cabinets and drawers in the kitchen, including the gross one under the sink and the chaotic one with all the cans, bags of weird foreign foods, the 6 different kinds of pasta, the spices, the tins, the cans and just a whole lot of stuff – everything sorted and now standing on a line with military precision!
- Sorted all cabinets and drawers in the bathrooms (I REALLY need to stop buying body lotion. Seriously.)
- Sorted all the drawers in the living room including the one with old postcards, receipts , mc tapes (remember those??), floppy discs !!(ohforfucksake), stamps, coins of foreign currency and general crap-a-rama.
- Painted the car port.
- Cleaned the deck floor and gave it oil – sorted, cleaned and threw stuff out.
- Weeded, re-planeted and sorted the garden.
- Vacuumed and cleaned the sofa (NO MORE FOOD IN THE LIVNG ROOM! Goddammit, kids! Once caught my 3-year old wiping his nose in the armrest, which should tell you something about the level of respect for furniture around here!)
- Sorted my closets and shoes. Emptied and vacuumed every single shoe box before sorting the shoes and putting everything back in order.
…
Now I need to lay down.
