Good Looooord!

I grew my own potatoes. Just threw a couple of potatoes (that I had forgotten in the back of a drawer and that I found all nice and sprouted!) in a bucket that I drilled 5-6 holes in for drainage. Sprouts turning up, I covered them with soil. Once a few beautiful green leaves peeked through, I covered THEM with soil. Did that a couple of times until the bucket was full and they looked like this:

After the plants had de-flowered, I stuck my hands in… Felt something hard… And there they were. Little nuggets of heaven. Perhaps it is a result of being a city-kid but this is so impressive to me. I know, I know, my part in the whole deal was totally insignificant but look!!! Beautiful potatoes that “I” made. I am just about ready to BURST with pride.

Aren’t they PRETTY? I also picked a few carrots that are about a month away from being done.

On a hot skilled simmering with melted butter and a dollop of olive oil, add fresh filets of cod. Salt. (I don’t really like pepper but if you do, this would the time to add it.)

Clean and chop mushrooms, add cream or – as here – a store bought white sauce, neutral.

Et voila! New potatoes with filet of cod, cream of mushroom and a tomato salad with feta cheese and (HOMEMADE !!) basil and edible flowers.
Ta-daaaah!

Have to confess, my mind went straight to the gutter. ;D

Confessions aside, you make that look soooo delicious! Congrats on the fruits (or is that vegetables?) of your efforts!

Honestly? I had to sit on my hands not to add a “sailor-to-the-nun”-gag.
