The other day, I was discussing with my webmaster (Yoda), the idea that I should start a “Dear Cinda”-section. Readers could write me with their dilemmas, questions etc. and I would dole out advice and general wisdom, laced with Chinese proverbs and Sex and the City-quotes.
When I am not curled up in the fetal position in an abyss of self-loathing and -doubt, paralyzed by feelings of inadequacy , I think of myself as much smarter than the average idiot (present company excluded, naturally!!!) and I do love to meddle in other people’s beeswax, so send me a mail if you want my input. If you are not comfortable writing in English, I also take questions in Danish, Swedish, German, French, Norwegian and Urdu. So basically, you can write in any language available on google translate. 😉
My role model shall be Danish woman-writer Tove Ditlevsen, who was a working-class, poor, alcoholic poet with life-long heartache and a sharp eye for beauty in the little things. She had a “Dear Tove”-section in a magazine in the 1950’s and once a woman wrote:
“Dear Tove. My husband is drinking heavily, he spends every paycheck on drinking, leaving me to care for our 6 children on what little wages I can earn by doing laundry for people. He beats me and the kids and he is sleeping around with other women. Should I walk out on him?”
Tove’s reply was short:
“You shouldn’t WALK out on him. You should RUN!”
So…
Write to mail@cindafuckingrella.com with you problems and I’ll kiss your boo-boo and put on a band-aid and everything is going to alllllllright. Or I might give you that loving kick in the groin you need to get your shit together and move on.
Discretion and anonymity goes without saying. This is a pretty secret blog, anyway. (Still waiting for that viral-effect to kick in…)
